August 2006 Newsletter

Edited by teacher, speaker and author Marjan Glavac.

This summer my daughter studied French in Trois-Pistoles, a small community in Quebec where I first studied French 32 years ago! Our family decided to see the Canadian east coast and then pick her up after the trip. For 2 weeks we traveled through the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. I highly recommend a trip to these beautiful parts of Canada.

The scenery, the people and the food are all wonderful. Quebec is also a wonderful province to explore and to learn French.  If you want to learn French, a 5 week immersion program will certainly go a long way to making you fluent. It worked for me and 32 years later, for my daughter as well!

With the end of another summer holiday, it’s time to gear up for the upcoming school year.  Some of you have already started the 2006-2007 new school year. Others, are still enjoying the final days of summer. For this issue, I’ve included  some sites that I’ve used in the past as well as some new sites to get you ready for the start of the new school year.

Have a great 2006-2007 school year!
