PRESS RELEASE FROM ANNENBERG/CPB CHANNEL
TEACHING READING, K-2: A LIBRARY OF CLASSROOM PRACTICES,
This Fall, the Annenberg/CPB Channel presents "Teaching Reading, K-2: A
Library of Classroom Practices," a free video library for K-2 teachers, staff
developers, and teacher educators.
The "Teaching Reading" video library features the teaching practices of a diverse
cross-section of K-2 teachers across the country. The library includes nine
30-minute classroom videos showing teachers and students engaged in
effective reading practices; and three 30-minute longitudinal videos that
show individual students developing reading skills over time.
TEACHING READING will be aired on the Annenberg/CPB Channel on
Mondays, October 14 - November 18, and repeated on Saturdays, November 9 –
December 14. The "Teaching Reading" video library consists of 12 half-hour
video programs, one ten-minute overview video, library guide, and Web site.
No registration is necessary. Graduate credit and/or professional development
points are not available for this offering.
The Annenberg/CPB Channel is simulcast on the Annenberg/CPB Web site.

and watch a continuous stream of Channel programming, ideal for previewing!

The school involves students in SWATT (Students With Access To Technology).
This program teaches select students how to do simple PC improvements,
load programs, help teachers with their technology (hardware/software), make
simple repairs, update the latest patches & fixes from the web, and edit the school
website for teachers and their class news. These students have developed
their own websites on special educational topics, which are linked on the
SWATT page.
On Clementon’s website page of "Great Sites for Children & Adults", there
are over 31 subject-categorized links of 100’s of sound, educational links to
help teachers integrate the use of technology in their classrooms. These links
also correspond to New Jersey's State Standards.
