ALL PARTICIPANTS HAVE TO DO IS CALL A TELEPHONE NUMBER, PUNCH IN AN ACCESS CODE AND LISTEN – ALL FROM THE COMFORT OF THEIR HOME.
Steps for Participants
1. Call the number for the Conference Calling Company which is supplied to you by the people conducting the call.
2. Enter the Conference Access Code given to you followed by the # sign. This step usually comes with instructions from the Conference Company to prompt you when you dial the telephone number.
3. You will have the option to mute yourself out and un-mute yourself back into the call so you can be heard. By muting yourself out you eliminate any background noise from where you are. This also gives you the opportunity to talk to someone else without interrupting the others on the call.
The moderators for your teleseminar session will remind you of the numbers to push to mute yourself out and un-mute yourself in order to ask questions. This comes in handy during the question and answer period.
The moderators have the option of muting everyone out and un-muting them as well but it is preferable to keep the lines open as much as possible for everyone's benefit. It often depends on how many people are on the conference call and how quiet they are.
4. The cost of the long distance call is charged to your phone. These are not toll free calls. But the costs are rather minimal.
Notes: If your long distance charges are too much from your home phone you may wish to purchase a calling card or arrange for a special rate with your existing telephone company. Or you can use some of the long distance companies that are available to you.
5. You should use a land line not a cell phone for your calls as your cellular phone may cause interference for yourself and others on the call. If that occurs, you can use the option to mute yourself out until you are ready to talk. Land lines are more stable and provide better clarity.
6. If you have a headset that plugs into your telephone jack you can use it thus freeing up your hands for writing. This isn't necessary but helpful. Please don't use speaker phone unless you mute yourself out.
The entire process is very simple and straight-forward. Once you have done it the first time you will be a veteran. It really is like having a conversation among friends.

Paul Jackson
Paul retired in 1998 after a teaching career including 20 years as a classroom teacher and 12 years as an Elementary School Principal.
Paul's interest in the teaching/learning process led him to share his love of learning through teacher-focused workshops both locally and internationally. Among his topics: Stress Management – A Personal Look; A Little R and R for the Soul – Reflection and Reflection; Burners and Blisters Go Together – When Helping Hurts (Enabling); Your Dreams Can Come True; It Can Happen to You. His philosophy of "Helping people help themselves" revolves around the concept that "without reflection, experience is not cumulative".
Paul recognized that in order to have an impact as a Principal on each and every one of the students in the school he must have an impact on the teachers. To attain that goal he devoted himself to training school administrators in the supervision and evaluation process so school administrators could impact what went on the classroom on a daily basis. During a sabbatical he wrote, "Formative Supervision Through Data Collection and Collaboration", a training manual of data collecting instruments for use in the classroom by administrators and teachers.
Paul's retirement didn't dampen his interest in life-long learning as he embarked on an Internet career helping people world-wide write, edit, format and ePublish their eBooks on the Internet. Paul is the author of several eBooks including: The 10 Steps to eBook Authoring; Awaken the Author Within – A Definitive Guide to eBook Authoring; Add Pizzazz to Your eBook; Add Pizzazz to Your Viral Marketing eBook; The Leadership Secrets of the Canada Goose; Supervision and Evaluation of Classroom Teachers – Part 1 An Overview of the Process; The FIRST 102 Best "Reflective Quickies" for Teachers – A Bathroom Book for Devoted Teachers". His eBook Authoring Services can be found at http://www.ebookwritingandpublishing.com .
Paul brings both the classroom teacher's and the school administrator's perspective to How to Thrive and Survive in the Classroom as he shares with you strategies for success.
